Alcalde Chile

Alcalde is a small community that lies along the Rio Grande River north of Espanola, NM. Alcalde is known for its farms and for the agricultural experiment station there. It is also where Seeds of Change was originally located. This chile has been grown by the Casados family forever. It is somewhat larger and smoother than some of the other traditional chiles. The flavor is full, but milder. Production is excellent on big, healthy plants. Field packets are at least 100 seeds, garden packets about 50 seeds. A portion of the the proceeds from this chile seed support our program of growing and sharing traditional crops with nearby communities.
