The Chile de Agua is a little known heirloom chile from Oaxaca, Mexico The chiles grow erect or pointing upwards in groups of three or four. and can be prolific under the right conditions. They have about the same heat as a jalapeño but with much more flavor. The plants are bushy and mostly low growing, around 2 to 2-1/2 feet tall. Pods are 4-5 inches long, broad at the shoulder, tapering to a blunt point, and a brilliant red at full maturity.
