Santo Domingo short pink traditional

Santo Domingo (now Kewa) is one of the pueblos along the Rio Grande and I've seen this corn growing and thriving even in very deep drought. It is only about 3 foot tall with very thick multiple stalks. Generally the kernels are white, but my friend Will gave me some of the rose-capped seed. Most of the surprisingly large, blocky (8") ears will have the pink color, but a few may be white. This is an ancient corn and growing it puts you in touch with some very old traditions. It also makes great chicos and posole! I'll send enough seed in a large packet for a 12x12 foot block. That's about an ounce. This is fresh seed and you will get excellent germination.
