Santiago Market (in trials)

I picked up this corn in Chile a number of years ago, impressed by the diameter of the ears and the rich flavor. It has some unusual genetics which I have been trying to sort out. In particular, I am intrigued by the trait of double cobs in a single husk. The strain I'm working on is a golden dent corn with large kernels which make a fine posole when mature. The photograph is at the milk stage. The cobs are about 8 inches long and nearly 4 inches in diameter. One drawback is that the double tips often extend beyond the flag leaves. It is a work in progress and only for the curious.

note: I'm going to grow it out again next season and may make it available then
