Zola's Rose Ultrasweet corn - first open-pollinated supersweet!

It has taken a number of years to reach the point where I felt this corn was ready to release for trial. The stout 5-6 foot stalks bear one or two 6-8" ears with brilliant red kernels which are off the scale in sweetness and will keep for more than a week without losing tenderness or flavor. Ears are tightly wrapped with good flags and bountiful red silk. It is also the result of traditional breeding techniques and open-pollinated.
There is still some variation in color with the occasional bi-color ear with just a blush of red showing up. The seed is shrunken, so I wait a little later to plant, but it is surprisingly viable in cooler soil. It is perhaps best to isolate this corn as a precaution against crossing. I'd suggest planting one of our other ultrasweets, either Butterscotch or Pearl as well for variety and an extended season.
A large packet will contain 80 seeds - more than enough for the typical garden. Again, international buyers: Be aware shipping seed corn requires additional postal charges.
